BUDAPEST – Harvest of poppy seed will be finished this week. Final yields data are quite mixed: 800 -1.600 kg/ha, which can be explained mainly with the heatwave before 2 weeks of the harvest.
As the Czech market information has become clearer, more and more information is coming about rather excellent Czech new crop expectations. Hungarian traders started to leave their positions and cut their prices a lot. The price levels for Czech and Hungarian blue poppy are almost the same now. However, Czech traders also lowered their quotations today.
