BRAZIL: Foreign media, January 9 news: The weekly report released by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BAGE) stated that in the week ended January 5, 2022, Argentina’s 2021/2 soybean planting progress was 86.8%, It was 5.3 percentage points higher than a week ago and 6.7% lower than the same period last year. The exchange estimates Argentine soybean plantings at 16.5 million hectares this season, down from 16.9 million hectares in 2020/21, as Argentina is more profitable for growing corn.
The exchange expects the country to produce 44 million tonnes of soybeans in 2021/2022, up from 43.1 million tonnes in the previous year.
