Brazil to Reduce Soybean Exports, Increase Corn Exports

Brazil may sell about 8.8 million tonnes of soybeans to foreign markets in August according to the forecast which released by specialists of the Association of Grain Exporters Anec. They note that the current result is 0.3 million tonnes behind last month’s results (9.1 million tonnes), but 3.8 million tonnes above the level of August 2022 (5 million tonnes).

Significant increase in corn shipment

Experts expect a significant increase in corn shipments abroad in the period under review – up to 9.8 million tonnes from 6.4 million tonnes in July and 6.8 million tonnes in August 2022.

In terms of finished product exports, soybean meal sales are expected to be 2.2 million tonnes (-0.3 million tonnes month-on-month; +0.6 million tonnes year-on-year).

In the first week of August, 2.4 million tonnes of soybeans, 687,500 tonnes of soybean meal and 2.2 million tonnes of corn were prepared for shipment at ports of Brazil,” the materials said.
