Canada exported 42 million tonnes of grains, legumes and oilseeds in 45 weeks of the current season, a 59% increase over the same period in 2021/22 MY according to Grain On-Line, citing the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).
Thus, the volume of soft wheat exports increased by 75% to 17.4 million tons, durum – by half to 4.7 million tons, barley – by 57% to 2.9 million tons, canola – by 55% to 7.4 million tons compared to the previous lean season.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates the export potential of Canadian wheat this season at 26 million tons (+72% over last season and +16% over the five-year average).
