According to Oil World estimates, canola exports from Australia in August decreased seasonally to 359 thsd tonnes compared to 424 thsd tonnes a month earlier. However, the current results are still significantly higher than the level in August 2022 – 152 thsd tonnes.
The main markets for the oilseed in the month were Japan and the EU, where the company shipped 130 thsd tonnes and 124 thsd tonnes respectively. The exports were also made to Mexico and the UAE.
Thus, the total exports of Australian canola since the beginning of 2022/23 MY reached 5.36 mln tonnes, of which 2.77 mln tonnes were shipped to the EU and 0.77 mln tonnes to Japan. Moreover, the exports of the oilseed to Mexico reached a new high for the period – 200 thsd tonnes, compared to 43 thsd tonnes in January-August 2022.
