BEIJING: Data from the online inquiry platform of the General Administration of Customs shows that China’s soybean imports in July 2022 were 7.883 million tons, down 4.45% month-on-month and 9.1% year-on-year. In that month, Brazil was the largest soybean supplier to China. China imported 6.9712 million tons of soybeans from Brazil, down 3.69% month-on-month and 11.47% year-on-year. The United States ranked second. In July, China imported 382,000 tons of soybeans from the United States, a decrease of 50.59% month-on-month and a significant increase of 803.61% year-on-year. In terms of soybean meal exports, China’s soybean meal exports in July were 28,093 tons, down 43.98% month-on-month and 66.45% year-on-year. In terms of soybean oil imports, China’s soybean oil imports in July were 54,738 tons, an increase of 55.91% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 70.22%.
