DALIAN – According to feedback from exporters, the exports of sunflower kernels have been slow this week, and most buyers are waiting for the new crop to come. There is a big interest in new crop prices from overseas customers.
Chinese bakery-grade sunflower kernels have been severely impacted by imported sunflower kernels, such as Bulgaria and Ukraine. Oil sunflower kernels are the main products there. The export situation of confectionary-grade sunflower kernels is better than that of bakery-grade sunflower kernels.
The export areas are mainly exporters from Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, and Dalian. The price of confectionary-grade sunflower kernels is USD 1.430/ton FOB Dalian or Tianjin. The export price of bakery-grade sunflower kernels in China is USD 1.400/ton.
The main exporting countries are the United States, Germany, the Middle East, the Netherlands, and Southeast Asian markets. Sea freight has always plagued agricultural exporters and is getting worse. Everybody looks forward to a drop in ocean freight rates as soon as possible.
