TIANJIN: Exporters reported that due to a large-scale reduction in sunflower seed production in Xinjiang, coupled with the fact that sunflower seeds in Inner Mongolia are not on the market, they are severely out of stock. In the past two weeks, producers and traders have begun to increase prices.
Many exporters have also raised their export standard sunflower seed prices due to increased purchase costs. The export price is FOB DALIAN /TIANJIN USD 1410 per ton. The price is much higher than the listing price of new products in the same period last year. The good news is that sunflower seed production in Inner Mongolia is not expected to decrease.
Most sunflower seed importers are currently holding a wait-and-see attitude, waiting for Mongolian sunflower seeds to be launched in the main producing areas. Some importers have already started purchasing. The Middle East regions such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the central export regions. It is predicted that October, November, December, and January will be the peak purchasing season for importers and the peak purchasing season for domestic food factories and traders.
