Tianjin: According to traders’ feedback is that the sales volume of Chinese sunflower seeds in the domestic market has increased, but there is no downward trend in prices due to fierce price competition.
Unlike sunflower seeds, sales of sunflower kernels were slow this week, with demand in the export market decreasing, partly due to prices, and partly due to lower demand in the Middle East market.
The export market is mainly concentrated in Tianjin and Dalian ports, with the largest export volume in Tianjin port. On the contrary, the trading volume in the export market declined, mainly due to the influence of the market and the price, and the importers expect the price to fall back to around $1,200/t or €1,115/t.
The reference price for export standard sunflower seed 361 (200-210 grains/50g) this week is $1,440-1,460 or €1338-1357 per tonne, and the reference price for 190-200 grains/50g is $1,470-1,500 or €1,366-1,394 per tonne.
Reference prices for confectionery-grade sunflower kernels this week ranged from $1,320-1,350 or €1,227-1,255 per tonne, while reference prices for bakery-grade sunflower kernels ranged from $1,340-1,370 or €1,245-1,273 per tonne, FOB Tianjin or Dalian.
