Don meteorologists have recorded a negative impact of drought on sunflower crops, reported by the North Caucasus Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
For the last few weeks, despite short rains, the region has been experiencing sultry weather. In the southern parts of Rostov region thermometers reached +50°C and above.
Precipitation can save the situation, but they are not forecasted to rain in the Don in the coming days. Hot weather and high fire danger will remain in the region. According to experts, this may significantly reduce the harvest of sunflower and other crops.
