The EU Council announced that member states had adopted the regulation to impose high customs duties on cereal products imported from Russia and Belarus.

The statement said that taxes on cereals, oilseeds and their derivatives from Russia and Belarus to EU countries will be raised to a level that will stop imports of these products.

The statement said that the measures would prevent the destabilization of the EU grain market and noted that Russia would stop exporting grain produced on the territory of Ukraine and illegally seized and that the revenues from exports to the EU would not be used to finance the war.
