Farmers in Belarus are approaching the final part of the 2023 winter rape harvesting campaign. As of August 1, the gross harvest of this crop reached 722.2 thousand tonnes, threshed on an area of 273.1 thousand hectares (82.1% of the plan). The average yield in the country is 26.4 c/ha. The Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported this to BelTA.
In addition, local farmers have already harvested about 1.72 million tonnes of cereals and legumes (excluding maize, buckwheat, millet) by the reporting date. 490.3 thousand hectares (24.8% of the plan) have been harvested by the beginning of this month. The yield is 35.1 c/ha.
It should be noted that on Tuesday, during his working trip to Brest, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed to more actively replace imported varieties of rapeseed with domestic ones.
