Freight Rates in Ukraine in the Shadow of Attacks

Last week, freight rates for transportation from the deep-sea ports of Odesa for handysizes continued to fall, while for panamax – they remained unchanged, Graintrade reports according to Atria Brokers.

As of December 7, freight rates for the transportation of 6,000 tons of corn from the ports of Reni and Izmail have increased due to increased demand:

to Spain by $5-6/t to $46-48/t or €42,6-44,5/t
to the East coast of Italy by $3/t to $41-43/t or €38-40/t
to Marmara by $2/t to $29/t or €27
to the eastern coast of Greece by $2/t to $32-34/t or €29,6-31,5/t
to the Eastern Mediterranean by $2/t to $38-40/t or €35-37/t
to Seville by $2/t to $48-50/t or 44,5-46,3/t
to Israel $43-46/t or €40-42,60/t

The cost of corn transportation by handsizes decreased in all main directions by $2/t and amounted to:

to the Mediterranean coast of Egypt $37-38/t or €34,30-35/t
to Italy $39-40/t or €36-37/t
to the Mediterranean coast of Spain 41-42 $/t or €38-39/t
to Tunisia $42-43/t or €39-40/t

The cost of freight for the transportation of corn by panamax from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny remained unchanged and is $75-78/t to China and $45-47/t to the Mediterranean coast of Spain.

Rates for barge transportation of corn to Constanta remained at 21-22 €/t, and for sunflower to Ruse-Silistra – 30 €/t.
