According to DBV experts, due to heavy precipitation in August, the production of grains and oilseeds in Germany in 2023 may be reduced to less than 40 mln tonnes compared to 40.9 mln tonnes in July and 43 mln tonnes harvested a year earlier, Nasdaq reports.
According to DBV, after a fairly wet spring in Germany, dry weather conditions were observed in May and June, and in July and August, precipitation began again in the country, which caused significant losses in the quantity and quality of the crop.
As noted, in some regions of the country, wheat is still unharvested, so the volume of grain production will be significantly lower than last year.
The volume of rapeseed production in the country in 2023 may decrease by 4.9% per year, to 4.07 mln tons.
At the same time, the production of winter barley in Germany may increase by 9.1% to 9.5 mln tonnes, as the grain harvest was completed before the August rains.
