According to the statement made by the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure on Twitter, the grain agreement, which allows the transportation of Ukrainian grain through Black Sea ports, has been extended for 120 days.
The UN and Turkey are guarantors
According to the statement, Ukraine and Russia reached an agreement on the extension of the grain agreement at talks in Istanbul. The United Nations and Turkey will remain guarantors of the agreement, the ministry said.
“We are continuing our activities for the uninterrupted functioning of the agreement and also for the transportation of grain to the countries that need it most, especially Africa,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
“There are positive developments regarding the extension of the grain deal, but it is necessary to ensure the full implementation of previous agreements,” Kremlin spokesman Peskov said before.
