It was planned to transport up to 2 million tons of vegetable oil per year through the pipeline from Ukraine to the Polish port in Gdansk in September 2022.
The current situation has not affected the process. The construction of the oil pipeline has not been stopped and at this time Poland is agreeing on the way of its laying.

The department hopes that the proposal of the European Commission to ban the import of Ukrainian oil to Poland will not affect the implementation of the project.
“We hope that nothing will affect. Now there are internal Polish procedures related to the approval of the laying path. Since this is a complex procedure, it affects a lot of communities and environmental standards,” the Ministry of Agrarian Policy stressed.
It was planned that the pipeline would run from the Yagodyna district (Volyn region) to Gdansk.
On September 7, 2022, Ukraine and Poland signed a Memorandum on a project to build a cross-border pipeline through which Ukrainian vegetable oil will be transported. First of all, it is planned to transport sunflower, and with smaller volumes – rapeseed and soybean oil.
Construction will take less time than the approval of all documents
According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky, it will be possible to transport 2 million tons of oil per year through the pipeline between Ukraine and Poland. It is tentatively planned that the length of the pipeline will be 600 km. Six months ago, Solsky stressed that “construction will take less time than the approval of all documents.”
- On April 26, 2023, the European Commission expanded the list of goods affected by the ban on imports to Poland from Ukraine. Sunflower oil has been added to this list, but its transit will be allowed.
