In Turkey, where hazelnut production is carried out on an area of approx. 744.000 ha, determinations are made in two different periods after the estimation by flower count. The exact yield estimation is made in the first week of July with the method of mulch counting.
With the arrival of spring, the first estimation of the 2022 crop of hazelnuts has been made with the flower count made by the sector representatives.
The estimated yield is 790.000 mt. However, sector representatives noted that the real harvest will emerge during counting in July. After the estimation made with the flower count method, there may be a decrease or increase in the product according to the weather conditions.
