In the current season, Kazakhstan increased the supplies of wheat to the EU countries.

According to APK-Inform, in 7 months of 2022/23 MY Kazakhstan supplied 283.09 thousand tonnes of wheat to the EU. This is up almost 6% compared with the same period last season (267.84 thousand tonnes).

Italy remains the leader in purchases of Kazakh wheat – in 7 months of the current season, the country exported 232.81 thousand tonnes.

In March of this year, 41.7 thousand tonnes of the total wheat exports (52.6 thousand tonnes) were shipped to Italy. This exceeds the figures of the same period last year (39.6 thsd tonnes and 36.8 thousand tonnes respectively).

Latvia is the second-largest purchaser of Kazakh wheat. In September-March of 2022/23 MY, Kazakhstan exported 31.9 thousand tonnes of grain to this country. It is interesting that Latvia sharply increased the imports of Kazakh wheat in March, having purchased 10.8 thousand tonnes. In the previous months of the season, the volume of supplies in this direction did not exceed 5.6 thousand tonnes.
