Kazakhstan increases exports to China by rail. Thus, according to KTZ data, 8.3 mln tonnes of various cargoes were delivered from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People’s Republic of China in the first half of 2023. This is 37% higher year-on-year, the KTZ press service reported.
In particular, the export of grains increased 3 times, up to 1 mln tonnes. The increase in the export of vegetable oils to China is even more significant – by 70%, up to 75 thsd tonnes.
Import of goods to Kazakhstan from China in January-June 2023 increased by 13% to 5.4 mln tonnes.
The total volume of rail transportation between the countries totaled 13.7 mln tonnes, which is 26% higher y-o-y.
APK-Inform reported, that the Chairman of the Board of NOPA Yadykar Ibragimov estimates the potential of exporting fat and oil products from Kazakhstan to China for the next 3 years at the level of $300 mln. At the same time, it was emphasized that in order to realize the available opportunities, it is necessary to solve problems with logistics.
