Lithuania’s Cheapest Food Basket Has Risen by €18.61 Over a Year

The cost of the cheapest daily food basket in Lithuania has risen by 32.2% during 2022. This was reported on Tuesday by Pricer.lt, a portal that records and compares retail prices.

“Analysis of the prices of the cheapest everyday foodstuffs in retail showed that the consumer basket went up by €18.61, or 32.2%, compared to January of last year,” the portal experts said.

The portal analysts monitor the price dynamics of 52 product groups. Prices for 51 groups went up. The price increase of 10 percent or more affected 48 food items. Coffee, black bread, milk, sugar, sunflower oil, eggs and pasta rose in price most of all.
