In the past month, Malaysia sent to foreign markets almost 1.1 million tons of palm oil, follows from the data of specialists of the independent inspection company AmSpec Agri Malaysia. Compared to December 2022, a decrease in exports by 26.8% is recorded – from 1.46 million tons.
At the same time, according to experts, the bulk of shipments of Malaysian products fell on palm olein (RBD palm olein), crude palm oil (crude palm oil, CPO) and refined palm oil (RBD palm oil) – 358.5 thousand tons (375.3 thousand tons – in December), 236 thousand tons (492.8 thousand tons) and 131.1 thousand tons (106 thousand tons), respectively.
Less significant sales volumes were recorded in relation to stearin (78.2 thousand tons), crude palm kernel oil (13.8 thousand tons) and other products.
It is noted that in January, the most active demand for Malaysian products was shown in India, China and the EU countries.
According to the national Council MPOB (Malaysian Palm Oil Board), Malaysia exported 15.7 million tons of “palm” last year, and in the FOURTH quarter recorded the highest sales rates.
“In October-December 2022, Malaysia exported 4.49 million tons of oil compared to 4.02 million tons in the third quarter, 3.63 million tons in the second and 3.53 million tons in the first quarter,” the materials say.
