ODESA: Although Ukrainian agrarians in the country’s Northern regions have just started harvesting millets, the Southern regions are already actively fighting for prices.
Most of the buyers expected significant price reductions to compare with last season. But against the background of other feed items price growth, millets prices came short of expectations. European buyers already started active work at the market, closing deals at the level 270-280usd/t FCA and trying to get long term contracts with monthly deliveries.
At the moment, Ukrainian market participants are offering the following levels for bagged 98% purity cargoes:
Yellow millet – 290-300 usd/t FCA
Red millet – 295-305 usd/t FCA
Creamy millet – 340-380 usd/t FCA
Black millet – 650-670 usd/t FCA
It seems that Indonesia and Malaysia importers took a pause expecting more offers and more definite prices for light creamy millet. They prefer to buy mainly this colour from Ukraine.
