Tianjin – According to feedback from market participants, the new season’s lentil harvest has begun, leading to a decline in prices. Buyers are actively seeking to make purchases as prices fall. However, with the lentil planting area being relatively small and overall production levels low, there is potential for prices to rise in the later stages of the season.
Current Market Pricing
At present, FOB prices for organic lentils in Tianjin and Dalian are quoted between $1,530 and $1,570 per tonne, while conventional lentils are priced at $1,440 to $1,470 per tonne. These prices reflect the current market dynamics, influenced by both supply and demand fluctuations.
Outlook for the Lentil Market
While prices have dropped with the onset of the new harvest, market participants are closely watching for potential increases. Given the limited planting area and lower production levels, there is a possibility of price hikes as demand grows and supply tightens.
