He is afraid that drivers will be forced to meet the New Year in a queue.

Each truck passes two customs

“The rosary stretches endlessly. The problem is that each truck passes through two customs: Ukrainian and Polish. But it would be more logical to arrange one control,” explained the head of the city.

At the same time, the press service of the State Transport Safety Service reported that the Yagodyn-Dorogusk checkpoint for trucks, where an electronic queue was launched as an experiment from December 12, will again work in live queue mode from December 20 to December 24.

It will be recalled that, according to the agreement with the Polish side, from September 9, through the Ustylug-Zosin checkpoint, empty cargo vehicles for departure from Ukraine began to pass.

Despite the unblocking of Ukrainian ports, trucks continue to export Ukrainian grain . As a result, long queues at the border showed the need for additional checkpoints.

On the state border with EU member states, and especially on the Polish section, there is a significant accumulation of queues of motor vehicles in both directions.

Ukrainian agricultural associations asked Polish President Andrzej Duda to consider the possibility of building a railway line with a track width of 1520 mm, which would connect Ukraine with the ports of Gdańsk and Klaipeda. This could significantly diversify logistics chains and increase export capacity.
