Ukrainian corn is becoming more expensive, as demand from foreign importers is growing

Trade expectations that demand and prices for Ukrainian grain will fall with the arrival of a new crop of corn from Argentina on the world market have not come true. Currently, the Argentine new crop is sold at higher prices than Ukrainian corn. It is possible to predict an increase in prices for corn from Ukraine in the coming weeks.

China is actively contracting Ukrainian corn now. Other importers – Türkiye, Egypt, Italy, Spain – also began to buy a lot of Ukrainian corn. In deep water, in seaports, purchasing prices increased to 145-150 USD/t or 132-136 EURO/t. Prices have been rising during last week. The supply is reducing and the demand is stable. It can be predicted that, due to high demand, the indicators will add $2-3/t or €1,83-2,74/t per week and reach the level of at least $160/t or €146/t on the basis of CPT by the end of March.
