India’s peanut export increased by 6% to Rs. 5381 crore in fiscal 2020-21 as compared to Rs. 5096 crore in 2019-20 mainly on account of higher prices fetched by exporters. Gujarat state accounts for almost 70% of the peanuts exported from India.
The peanut export from the state stood at Rs. 3505 crore during the period from April’20 to February’21. The exports in value terms were up 3% from Rs. 3405 crore during the same period last year. Gujarat’s total peanut export for the entire fiscal 2019-20 was reported at Rs. 3600 crore.
The exporters received an average price of $ 1,139 per tons for peanut in fiscal 2021, which was 6% higher than the $1,071 per ton price fetched in 2019-20.
