Poland Demands Withdrawal of Ukraine’s WTO Claim

Poland Demands Withdrawal of Ukraine’s WTO Claim

Spread the news!

Poland does not understand what the suspension of Ukraine’s complaint to the World Trade Organisation – WTO means and demands that the claim be withdrawn. This was stated by Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus, according to PAP.

We don’t understand what ‘suspended complaint’ means. We demand its withdrawal because it is groundless and absurd. How can the Ukrainian government complain to the Polish government that the latter is protecting the interests of Polish farmers? This is absurd. And our appeal to the Ukrainian side is as follows: if we want to improve relations, Ukraine should withdraw its complaint to the WTO, not talk about some kind of suspension,” the minister said.

He also noted that Poland currently has no confirmation from the WTO that the complaint has been suspended.

This statement was made after the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka said that Ukraine’s WTO complaints against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia are now “on hold“.
