Poland’s first grain port will be built in Gdańsk. This was stated by Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Robert Telus during a meeting with voters on October 10, Interfax-Ukraine reports with reference to polskieradio24.pl.
The minister noted that the relevant agreement was signed between the Agro-Food Investment Company (RSSI) and the Gdańsk port administration.
“On October 10, the state budget enterprise RSSI signed an agreement with the port of Gdańsk on the construction of a grain port. We have a grain port,” said R. Telus. He also added that the new port will improve grain transportation, in particular from Ukraine.
As a reminder, Ukraine filed a claim with the World Trade Organization and accused Poland, Hungary and Slovakia of discriminating against its agricultural products. Ukraine is currently negotiating the introduction of a licensing procedure for exports of Ukrainian agricultural products with mandatory verification in each of the five countries.
