The ban on the import of Ukrainian grain to Poland will remain in place until appropriate rules are developed at the EU level. This was stated by the new Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in the government of Donald Tusk, Czeslaw Sekerski, European Truth reports with reference to the Polish Radio Information Agency (IAR).
At the same time, according to the minister, Ukrainian export of grain should go another way, and not through the territory of Poland.
“Because there is always a certain risk, even in transit, that part of this grain and other agricultural products will remain on Polish territory,” he explained.
Separately, Ch. Sekerski emphasized that Poland wants to help Ukraine, but it needs norms regarding quotas and transition periods, “and this issue should be resolved jointly with the European Union.”
