Polish Agriculture Minister Henryk Kowalczyk resigned amid mass protests of farmers in connection with grain supplies from Ukraine.
“I have resigned from the post of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development” Kowalczyk said at a press conference on April 5.
As noted, the decision to deprive the minister of office was made by the leadership of the ruling party “Law and Justice”, because, in their opinion, he could not cope with the crisis related to Ukrainian grain.
Recall that in connection with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and complicated exports by sea, Ukraine exports a significant part of its grain through the land border with Poland. This grain was supposed to go through Poland in transit to other states, but remains in the country and is sold there. In this regard, Polish farmers demanded a reaction from the Ministry of Agriculture and the resignation of its head.
