Queues at the Ukrainian border have increased three or four times over the past few months. The cost of delivery has also increased accordingly.
Exporting companies note that they are suffering significant financial losses. All surveyed companies confirmed the existence of problems with exporting products due to long queues at the Ukrainian border. The average delay of the cargo is on average 10-15 days or more. Almost all those interviewed said that the situation with queues at the border has worsened. The exporters believe that the procedures related to crossing the border (in particular eQueue) need to be refined.
Ukrainian companies understand the existence of objective reasons, such as the military aggression of the Russian Federation, and the blocking and unstable operation of ports. Checkpoints located on the western border of Ukraine have become for Ukrainian exporting companies the only transport corridors not only to the EU markets but actually to the markets of the whole world. However, there are also a number of subjective factors and opportunities for their elimination. This must be done as soon as possible, taking into account the negative impact of the queues on the export capacity and economy of Ukraine in the near future.
