Rising Raisin Prices: Impact on Export Market and Future Projections

Rising Raisin Prices: Impact on Export Market and Future Projections

Spread the news!

Raisin raw material prices continue to increase. No. 8 raisins, paid in May, were purchased from the farmer for 87 TL or 2,49€. The fact that there were so few raisins no. 10 in the market that they could not be exported in large tonnage was very effective in increasing the price of raisins no. 8 and 9. Producers expect the new season’s yield to be high, of course it is too early to say this, but even if the yield is high, export prices are expected to not fall below 2000 USD or 1828 EURO. The USD-EURO rise is the most important reason for this situation.

Weekly raisin exports were 4549 tons with an average sales price of 2494 USD or 2279 EURO , an increase of 200 tons compared to last year.
