Romania will request the European Commission to extend the restrictions on imports of Ukrainian products to five Eastern European countries until the end of 2023, said Florin Barbu, the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania, during the parliamentary hearings in the Romanian Parliament, Evropeiska Pravda reports citing Euractiv.
“The ban is valid until September 15. I will talk to colleagues from other countries, and we will ask for an extension until December 31. In addition to rapeseed, wheat, corn, sunflower, I will try to add up to 10 products,” Barbut said.
In particular, in his opinion, the list of import bans may include honey and meat, as well as “other Romanian priorities, so that Romanian farmers can sell local products.”
