Russia and the Search For “Friendly” Countries That Buy Their Goods From Them

Russian companies engaged in producing oil and fat products want to outgrow the domestic market, so further growth prospects for them are just connected with export.

Mikhail Maltsev, Executive Director of the Oil and Fat Union, argues that to position their product abroad correctly, domestic MZHP producers need to understand the nuances of the target consumer markets to avoid inevitable mistakes.

The Federal Center “Agroexport” of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is currently preparing 40 new export guides – reference books with information producers need to enter foreign markets. Such materials are beneficial for “newcomer” companies that are just planning to enter an unknown country with their products, believes Mikhail Maltsev.

The head of the industry association notes that detailed strategies have already reduced the costs of Russian exporters and helped companies successfully enter the markets of China, India and Iran.

“This is a unique experience when the state carries out global marketing for companies at a very high level and helps the exporter find new partners,” Maltsev said.
