There was a significant hype in the market about the announcement of the Korean sesame seeds tender. But unfortunately, the game has changed quite a bit already for India after the third part of the three-part tender went to Myanmar.
Both the Part 1 and Part 2 category of the tender got rejected. The rebidding is scheduled for tomorrow. India still hopes to gain a significant portion from the Part 1 and Part 2 categories’ rebidding.
But until it is over, there is a chance that it might go the other way instead of in favour of India, as it went for the Part 3 category.
Myanmar’s Geosung Trading won the bid to export 6,000 tons of sesame to Korea at $1,798.00 per ton.
Depending on the tender’s successful bidding, the future of the Indian sesame seed market will be determined tomorrow. Most of the stockists and traders were hopeful of winning the bidding.
