The domestic demand for white sesame in India has now reduced to a large extent. A phase of the domestic market may come again, but the need will be less, due to which there is no possibility of improving the price of white sesame.

Good demand

Export demand for Indian Turmeric Sesame is currently good in evidence. With the commencement of the festival of Ramzan in March, the market is presently getting the support of demand from Middle East countries.

The arrival of sesame has started in India, and it is estimated that 18 to 20 thousand tonnes of white sesame will be imported by February. The import has no effect on the price of Shortex Sesame as the imported Sesame is mainly used in Haling variety.

No rise in price expected

There is no possibility of a rise in the price of white sesame because there may not be domestic demand as earlier. The market for Ramzan is also expected to get fulfilled by January. Thus, the cost of White Sesame Shortex will likely decrease in the future. And similarly, black sesame will also fall as their production is low, and it will suffice domestic needs. Therefore, according to the experts, India will not get the next Korean Tender.

The export of Indian Sesame is decreasing progressively and rapidly. The main reason is that the production in India is decreasing yearly. Thus, to regain the place of Indian sesame in the world market, two lakh tonnes of sesame seeds must be produced in Gujarat in the summer. And currently, in the past two years, sesame production has exceeded 1 million tonnes.

The Sesame seeds natural 99.95% sortex prices were recorded at $1,97 per kg FOB.
