Manisa: Last week Turkey exported more than the double sultana raisins compared with the same week of the last Season. As known there is a big lack of available containers for exports from Turkey which has also increased the freight prices from 30 usd/mt up to 100-110 usd/mt   to European main ports. This has also lead to the fact that European buyers especially preferred truck loads for their urgent needs. The export figures of the turkish sultana raisins of the crop 2020 is still far behind the figures of the previous crop due to more competitive prices from other producing countries. Farmers however expect a higher raw material price for the new crop which could be problematic for the exporters due to competitive international export prices. The biggest question is now whether TMO (Turkish Grain Board) will continue to buy Sultana raisins and for what prices in the new Season.
