Sultana Raisins: High expectations

Spread the news!

Cold temperatures, frost, and snow have been dominant over Turkey since last week. Below minus degrees, rain, frost, and snowfalls are expected to continue in all country regions. Despite this cold weather, the farmers in the Manisa region continue their pruning work in the vineyards.

Fluctuations in the Turkish Lira are calmer than they were last week. Whether there will be any changes in the interest rates at the meeting of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey this week is already a matter of curiosity. Many market players have expectations that interest rates will remain stable this month.Today the Usd/TL rate was noted at 13.44 TL (13.89 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 15.35 TL levels (15.72 last week).

The markets are still calm as last week. Exporters informed that there is not much activity yet on the buyers’ side. Again, there was not much action at the İzmir Stock market, and transactions were made at the level of 15 -16 TL/kg for no.9 type raisins. Export prices remained as before at the level of 1550 Usd/mt FOB for prompt shipments and 1600 Usd/mt for long-term contracts. Organic raisins typrnr.9 are offered at 2350-2400 Usd/mt levels.
