The new marketing season began on July 1, so it is time to sum up the season 2023/24.
In MY 2023/24, Ukraine exported 69.86 million tons of grains and oilseeds, as well as vegetable oils.
Compared to the previous season, in 2023/24 exports increased:
- Wheat – by 9% to 18.43 million tons,
- Corn – by 0.2% to 29.41 million tons,
- Rapeseed – by 8.7% to 3.7 million tons,
- Sunflower oil – by 22.8% to 6.54 million tons,
- Sunflower meal – by 29.1% to 5.15 million tons,
- Soybean meal – by 12.5% to 0.662 million tons.
At the same time, exports decreased:
- Barley – by 8.5% to 2.48 million tons,
- Soybean – by 8.2% to 2.98 million tons,
- Sunflower – by 86.3% to 324 thousand tons
The sharp decline in sunflower exports indicates that Ukraine has resumed its processing within the country.
Exports of goods in the 1st half of 2024 amounted to $19.5 billion, which is almost the same as in 2023. Although the physical volume of exports increased by 35%. The stable volume of revenue with a significantly larger volume of supplies is explained by significant reduction in prices for main export products.
Increased logistics capacity has also impacted the volume of goods exported. If in April and May exports reached record levels, then in June decreased compared to May in volumes by 20.2% to 9.7 million tons, primarily, as a result of the completion of shipments of last years harvest.
