Sunflower production in Azerbaijan increased compared to the results of the last calendar year. As reported to the agency “Interfax” in the local Ministry of Agriculture, the gross harvest of oilseeds in the reporting period amounted to over 29 thousand tons.

“In 2022, 29,4 tons of sunflower were harvested in Azerbaijan, which is 13.8% more compared to 2021,” the ministry said.
Earlier, specialists of the State Statistics Committee (Goskomstat) said that the volume of imports of vegetable oil to Azerbaijan in the period from January to November 2022 amounted to over 106.5 thousand tons – almost 6.5% lower than in the eleven months of last year.
