On October 8, 2023, using the temporary corridor, two vessels with Ukrainian cargo left the ports of Greater Odessa and successfully reached the territorial sea of Romania.
This was announced by the head of the Monitoring Group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies Andriy Klymenko. He noted that the vessels under the flag of Barbados and Belize entered the ports of Odesa on October 1.
Thus, since September 19, 2023, 12 vessels have successfully left the ports of Greater Odessa with cargo (17 vessels have arrived since September 16, 2023). To those that successfully left with cargo, we can add 5 vessels from the number of previously blocked ones that left between August 16 and September 15, 2023.
The logistics situation in Ukraine is getting worse due to constant Russian attacks on the Danube port infrastructure. Also, Ukraine does not have enough possibilities to keep all the volumes of harvested crops. The temporary corridor should become the “lifebuoy” for the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
