The European Union has purchased more than 36 million tons of oilseeds and their derivatives since July 1
From July 1, 2021, to May 8, 2022, EU countries imported about 36.4 million tons of oilseeds and their derivatives, down 10% from the same period in the previous MY (40.2 million tons, taking into account data updates).

Soybean products accounted for most purchases in the reporting period, with about 26.4 million tons. In particular, 453.4 thousand tons of soybean oil were purchased. Flour imports decreased by 930 thousand tons compared to last season to 13.93 million tons. Purchase of seeds – 12.06 million tons.

Imports of sunflower and processed products from July 1 to May 8 amounted to more than 4.3 million tons. 540.35 thousand tons of sunflower seeds were imported, and the volume decreased by 208.3 thousand tons by 2020/21 MY. Purchased meal – 2.1 million tons. Oil stocks – 1.68 million tons.

Purchases of rapeseed and processed products amounted to over 5.55 million tons. In particular, 483.2 thousand tons of oil meal, 529.6 thousand tons of oil and 4.55 million tons of rapeseed were imported.
