Since the beginning of the 2022/23 season (September-June), Ukraine has sold almost 3 million tons of soybeans to foreign markets – this result has already become a new historical maximum, exceeding the previous record of 2.9 million tons (2016/17 MY).
According to experts, most of the oilseeds were purchased by the EU countries in the reporting period – their share in the export structure is 47% against 40% in 2021/22 MY. At the same time, the countries of the bloc also increased their purchases of soybeans by 3.1 times.
Türkiye retains 2nd place in the ranking with a share of 32% against 36% in the last MY. “The increase in supplies in this direction for 10 months of 2022/23 MY amounted to 2.4 times,” the specialists explained.
Experts also point out that Egypt increased the import of Ukrainian soybeans by 17 times – up to 440 thousand tons. The share of the African region rose to 15% from 2% in the 2021/22 season.
