Turkey Has Tripled Imports of Ukrainian Soybeans Since the Beginning of March

Almost 1.4 million tons of soybeans were sold from Ukraine to foreign markets in the 2021/22 marketing year. Compared to the 2020/21 season, oilseed exports decreased by 5%. Such data are provided by APK-Inform analysts, who emphasize that the export of crops from March to August 2022, on the contrary, increased by 65% ​​compared to the same period in 2021, to 507 thousand tons.

In these six months, most of the Ukrainian oilseeds were imported by the EU countries and Turkey, experts say.

APK-Inform stated that about 536 thousand tons of soybeans were sent to Turkey from Ukraine over the entire last season, which is 2% lower than the level for 2020/21 MY.

“In March-August 2022, 3 times more of this crop was exported in this direction compared to the figure in the same period of the previous MY,” the analysts concluded.
