Farmers of Ukraine may harvest about 80.5 million tons of grain and oilseeds this year. This forecast was announced by experts of the National Grain Association (UGA), who increased the estimate of gross harvest by 3.7 million tons at once on the background of expected high yields.
Thus, sunflower production is estimated at 13.9 million tons (11.1 million tons in 2022, 16.9 million tons in 2021), and the volume of processing of the crop at 13.2 million tons.
As for rapeseed and soybeans, their harvest is projected at 4.1 million tons and 4.8 million tons, respectively.
The wheat harvest estimate for 2023 has improved from 20.2 million tons to 22 million tons (2022 harvested 20.2 million tons and a record 33 million tons in 2021). For barley, the 2023 figure also improved from 5.2 million tons to 5.8 million tons (10.1 million tons in 2021 and 5.8 million tons in 2022).
The forecast for corn has been raised from 26.9 to 28 million tons (37.6 million tons in 2021 and 27.3 million tons in 2022).
