ODESA: According to forecasts, amid a shortage of supplies and a decline in global production, purchase prices for feed barley in Ukraine continue to grow. They already exceed the costs for feed corn, although they are still below the prices for feed wheat.
As of December 13, Ukraine exported 5 million tons of barley in 2021/22 MY, 36% more than last year. However, the export forecast compared to the previous season increased from 4.23 to 5.6-6 million tons.
Purchase prices for barley in Ukraine last week in ports reached level 270-275 $/t. At the same time, traders offered 260 $/t for corn and 300 $/t for feed wheat. However, this week, following a drop in wheat and corn prices, barley also fell by 3-5 $/t.
