Ukraine’s wheat market experiences a price lull, as business activity on the world market decreases from December 25 to approximately January 7 due to the New Year’s holidays.
By the end of this week, purchasing prices for milling wheat will be in the range of 185/190 $/t CPT Danube ports. A bit lower – 178/185 $/t CPT Odesa. In December-January, prices for feed wheat may be 160-170 $/t. According to analysts, as of January, traders have already contracted about 1 million tons of Ukrainian wheat.
Most of the Ukrainian wheat is shipped to Asia
In general, the global market is on the rise and is starting to trade in the new harvest. China is actively buying milling wheat from Australia and France. In February-March, France can already complete the export of wheat. Asian countries, in turn, understand that next season there may be problems with the weather and it is better to have wheat reserves. Therefore, Ukrainian wheat will continue to be in demand in Asian countries.
