According to FranceAgriMer, the planting of winter grains in France has almost completely stopped amid prolonged rains, Hellenic Shipping News reports.

In particular, it is reported that as of November 20, French farmers sowed soft wheat in 74% of the planned areas (+3% per week), while in the same period last year, the sowing was completed in 98% of the area. At the same time, the condition of winter wheat crops deteriorated, with 83% of the areas in good and excellent condition as of the same date (-3% w/w).

By November 20, 86% of winter barley was planted in France, compared to 84% a week earlier. The condition of the grain crops also deteriorated, decreasing to 85% in excellent and good condition.

It is also reported that the corn harvesting campaign in the country was completed on 98% of the area, while in the same period last year it was already completed.
