According to USDA analysts, in May of this year, the consumption of corn for processing in the U.S. totaled 492 mln bushels (12.55 mln tonnes), up 6% compared with the previous month, but down 2% compared with May of the previous year.
In particular, 91.6% of the total volume of corn consumed was used for ethanol production, which amounted to 437.5 mln bushels or 11.28 mln tons (+6% month-on-month, -2% year-on-year).
