About 10.5 million tonnes of sunflower can be harvested by Ukrainian farmers following the results of the 2022/23 marketing year. This forecast was published by analysts of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the September report, increasing this figure for the month by 1 million tonnes.
At the same time, experts from the US Agricultural Department have increased the estimate of exports of Ukrainian seeds in the new season by 700 thousand tonnes – up to 1.95 million tonnes. The USDA materials for September also record an increase in the estimate of sunflower oil production in MY 2021/22 – up to 4.64 million tonnes (+129 thousand tonnes). The forecast for the sale of the Ukrainian product was also slightly increased – by 115 thousand tons, up to 4.46 million tonnes.
As for the current marketing year, the forecasts for the production and export of Ukrainian oil remained unchanged – 4.085 million tons and 3.6 million tonnes, respectively.
